Expedited Freight FAQ — Common Questions Answered
Nearly three decades in the field. Here are the questions we get most often.
📞 803-244-9897What is expedited freight?
Expedited freight prioritizes speed over cost — using dedicated vehicles, direct routing, and immediate dispatch to deliver freight faster than standard scheduled carriers. AB&M provides same-day, overnight, and emergency expedited freight with 24/7 dispatch.
How fast can AB&M dispatch?
AB&M dispatches dedicated vehicles within 30-60 minutes of your call. Local same-day delivery completes in 2-4 hours. Regional same-day (150-400 miles) delivers in 4-8 hours. Long-haul overnight uses team drivers.
What is ground expedite transport?
Ground expedite uses a dedicated vehicle exclusively for your freight — no co-loading, no shared truck space, no terminal stops. Direct from pickup to delivery.
What is Next Flight Out (NFO)?
NFO puts your freight on the next available commercial passenger flight. AB&M books on commercial airlines — no 24-hour advance requirement. Coast-to-coast same-day delivery on most US routes.
What is hand carry courier?
A named AB&M courier personally escorts your shipment door-to-door on a commercial flight with unbroken chain-of-custody. Used for pharmaceutical samples, legal documents, classified materials, and high-value electronics.
Does AB&M post loads to public load boards?
Never. AB&M does not post to public load boards. Every carrier is directly vetted — DOT verified, insurance validated, and known to our operations team. This policy has produced a zero cargo theft record since 1997.
Do you handle US-Mexico cross-border freight?
Yes. AB&M coordinates cross-border ground expedite via Laredo, El Paso, McAllen, Nogales, and Brownsville. Both sides of the border are handled under a single dispatcher.
Are you available 24/7?
Yes. AB&M's dispatch line operates 24/7/365 including nights, weekends, and holidays. A real dispatcher answers every call.
